Ms. Cizek is a Clinical Assistant Professor at the University Speech, Language and Hearing Clinic (USLHC), the training facility of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. Prior to joining the COMD Department, she worked full-time at a public school in Houston ISD. She also worked part-time as a speech pathologist at a private practice and as an adjunct supervisor at the USLHC. Her experiences include supervision as well as diagnosis and treatment of children and adults with various speech and language differences and disorders. Ms. Cizek supervises graduate students in the USLHC, specifically clinicians assigned to the Post-Stroke (Aphasia) Group, Accent Modification Group and clients receiving individual speech and language therapy. In addition, she teaches the undergraduate course entitled Clinical Procedures (COMD 4489).
Laura Cizek graduated from the University of Texas in 1997 with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Sciences and Disorders and earned her Master of Arts degree in Speech Pathology from the University of Houston in 1999.
